After discussions, files are often the starting point for getting work done and keeping those files organized means you and your team can spend less time tracking down assets and managing your files, and more time getting work done. Our team is excited to announce our latest feature: file folders. Now every project gives you the option to create infinite file folders to make it easier to find what you need, when you need it, while limiting the number of “working,” “final,” and “final_final” labels you might currently be using (but we know old habits die hard). You choose the folder structure and subfolders that works best for you and have complete control of who has access to those folders and files. This has already made our team more organized and we think it’s going to help your team too.

Keep your assets organized.

Here’s just a few ways you can use file folders in Cage.

  • Private Folders. Private folders (and the contents within them) allow you to keep those assets viewable from Reviewers on your project. Only your team can see these folders and files.
  • Shared Folders. Shared folders are great for when the intent is to share and distribute collections of assets with your team and reviewers.
  • Organize Source Assets. From b-roll footage and audio tracks to source assets like Photoshop files, you can use file folders to organize everything you’re working on.
  • Collect Inspiration. Often times before work is even started, there’s conversations and ideation that takes place. Use file folders to keep inspiration or mood boards organized for you and your team.
  • Drag and drop. Need to upload a folder from your desktop? You can drag and drop an entire folder from your desktop to Cage and we’ll preserve the folder structure and encode all the files that we support in those folders.

This release also contains a handful of delightful product improvements and fixes, including “batch operations”. Long gone are the days of individually selecting one file to move or delete it. You can now multi-select files and move, delete or share those files easily. Our team will continue to improve file folders and add new functionality over time. Here’s to keeping things nice and tidy, enjoy!

Teams from companies around the world like Best Buy, Leo Burnett, Loreal, Johnson & Johnson, SapinetRazorfish and Electrolux are already using Cage to help transform the way they work. Try it for free today!
