Sketch is a (macOS-only) dedicated vector and interface design tool that’s becoming wildly popular. Many of our customers have opted to use Sketch for UI design instead of the traditional Photoshop or Illustrator so it naturally made sense for us to support .sketch files in Cage.

Until recently, our customers had to upload a version of the file they were working on to Cage (like .PNG, .JPG, etc). That’s fine for previewing, but not if you need to pull down the file to make changes or new versions. Upload .SKETCH files just as you might other files in Cage and we’ll take care of the rest. Artboards are always preserved and we’ll create a multipage layout for those files. The original file is always available for download, too.

There are a lot of benefits to using Sketch for interface design — from Symbols to Libraries, to the growing community that supports Sketch by way of third-party plugins (lots of them) and tutorials from lots of talented folks (here’s just a few we like and have used ourselves: sketchapp.tv from Maximilian Hennebach, Sketch Together from Pablo Stanley, and ADVANCED Symbols in Sketch from Matt D. Smith).

Enjoy this latest feature release and if you have any feedback, you can always reach our team directly in the product. There’s plenty more coming soon, too! Help us spread the word and connect with us on Twitter, Instagram, and Dribbble.
